AGPI SENDS CONDOLENCES TO TUMBLER RIDGE:
The Abraham Global Peace Initiative (AGPI) is profoundly heartbroken by the devastating mass school shooting in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, which claimed the lives of 8 victims - mainly students - and left 25 others injured. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and stand in solidarity with the entire community during this time of unimaginable grief. Schools must remain places of safety, learning, and hope — never scenes of violence. May the memory of those lost be a blessing, and may healing and strength surround all those affected.

SHOULD WE GIVE UP THE FIGHT AGAINST ANTISEMITISM?
Was New York Times columnist Bret Stephens right? Should we stop funding the fight against antisemitism? That's the question he posed in a powerful State of World Jewry address in New York on Feb. 1. Stephens believes that spending millions of dollars on the fight against antisemitism is a waste of money. But tell that to the families of the victims of antisemitism from Toronto to Paris to Manchester to Bondi Beach.
If we give up, if we turn inward, if we only focus on ourselves, if we stop caring, if we stop fighting and pronouncing our generational battle-cry of "Never Again," what might become not only of Jews, but of our effort to safeguard religious freedom and democracy for all? The fight against antisemitism is only one effort of the Jewish community. Although it has taken greater prominence since October 7, antisemitism does not define the beauty of being Jewish — or Jewish identity itself. Still, it would be foolish to ignore the enemy at the gates. Read more HERE

AGPI GLOBAL MONITORING WEEKLY REPORT:
Between February 6–13, 2026, The Abraham Global Peace Initiative monitored a disturbing escalation in antisemitic incidents worldwide. On February 9 in Australia, protests targeting Israeli President Isaac Herzog included reported death threats. On February 9 in Paris, three Jewish men were threatened by a knife-wielding attacker returning from synagogue; Mayor Jérémy Redler condemned the assault. On February 8–9 in Munich, a Jewish community centre received death threats and live ammunition. On February 10 in Maryland, USA, a synagogue was vandalized with swastikas and anti-Zionist graffiti. The broader trend is alarming: France recorded 1,320 antisemitic incidents in 2025, representing 53% of all anti-religious acts, though Jews are less than 1% of the population. The UK’s CST recorded 3,700 incidents in 2025, averaging 308 per month, double the previous year.

AGPI STATEMENT ON NETANYAHU VISIT TO WASHINGTON:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington reinforced U.S.–Israel strategic coordination amid ongoing regional tensions. Meetings with President Trump and bipartisan congressional leaders focused on security cooperation, the war against Hamas, Iran’s regional aggression, hostage recovery efforts, and humanitarian access in Gaza. The visit underscored continued U.S. military and diplomatic support for Israel while also reflecting discussions about post-war governance and regional stability. Both sides emphasized the importance of deterring Iran, advancing normalization efforts, and safeguarding Israel’s security within a broader Middle East framework.

AGPI WELCOMES INTERNATIONAL CONDEMNATION OF ALBANESE:
The Abraham Global Peace Initiative (AGPI) welcomes the growing number of democratic nations condemning UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese and calls for her immediate resignation. Governments across Europe and North America have raised serious concerns that such rhetoric undermines the impartiality required of a UN mandate holder. Read more HERE

HERZOG RECEIVES DEATH THREATS IN AUSTRALIA:
The Abraham Global Peace Initiative condemns the antisemites who greeted President Isaac Herzog in Australia with rallies of hate and reported death threats. In an upside-down world, calls for violence are directed at the president of a free and democratic state brutally attacked by Islamic terrorists—while tyrannies in Iran, China, North Korea, and Syria escape such fury. This hypocrisy is morally bankrupt. Democratic leaders must unite to denounce this hatred unequivocally.

AGPI STATEMENT ON IRAN'S APPOINTMENT AT UN:
The Abraham Global Peace Initiative (AGPI) strongly condemns the February 11, 2026 election of the Islamic Republic of Iran as Vice-Chair of the United Nations Commission for Social Development. Entrusting a regime known for systemic repression, suppression of women’s rights, and violent crackdowns on dissent with leadership over democracy, tolerance, and non-violence is a profound moral contradiction. This decision undermines the credibility of the United Nations and betrays victims of Iran’s ongoing human rights abuses.

AGPI's LEADERSHIP IN EDUCATION:
This week, our education team proudly launched the Power of One Human Rights Exhibit in partnership with R.L. Graham P.S. (YRDSB), collaborating closely with staff to facilitate student workshops centred on practical upstander behaviour. At the same time, as schools work diligently to address antisemitism, AGPI formally reached out to ETFO leadership following reports of a recent partnership that raised significant community concern. We offered consultation grounded in mainstream Jewish experience and established human rights standards, engaging union representatives, education stakeholders, and community members in calling for transparency and legitimacy in antisemitism training. As Dr. Neil Orlowsky, AGPI’s Director of Education, reminded students, “Upstanders are built through practice, not platitudes.” AGPI’s work remains preventative, structured, and action-oriented. She is survived by her parents, Elad and Yifat, and her younger siblings Aniam, Tahel and Sinai.
