"AGPI has become a beacon of moral clarity. You've taken on the hardest fight: Exposing terrorist networks; Standing with hostage families; Confronting campus antisemitism...your advocacy has led to real victories" - Ambassador Gilad Erdan
Toronto, May 28, 2025: The Abraham Global Peace Initiative (AGPI) proudly celebrated its most powerful and successful Crystal Ball Benefit to date at Toronto’s historic Casa Loma. A sold-out gathering of Canada’s top-tier benefactors, dignitaries, and civic leaders came together in an unforgettable evening in support of AGPI’s mission to defend human rights, democratic values, and the Jewish people worldwide.
"I believe this was our community's best solidarity event in a long time. This is an organization I am proud to be associated with" said AGPI's President, Mark Teitelbaum.
The evening was headlined by His Excellency Ambassador Gilad Erdan, Israel’s former Ambassador to both the United Nations and the United States. Delivering a stirring keynote address, Ambassador Erdan affirmed the importance of global Jewish solidarity, declaring:
“Your resilience here in Toronto strengthens our resilience in Israel. Your voices echo across oceans and reach deep into the hearts of every Israeli.”
Guests were welcomed with a stunning cocktail reception before being treated to a gourmet dinner in the grandeur of Casa Loma’s historic halls.
One of the most emotional highlights of the evening was a performance by Mordechay Shenvald, a wounded Israeli war hero, who traveled from Israel to perform on a cherished violin passed down by his grandfather—a Holocaust survivor. Shenvald’s music, born from pain and hope, echoed the enduring strength of the Jewish people and left few dry eyes in the room.
Despite a demonstration outside the venue, AGPI’s guests stood tall and undeterred. In fact, the protest only strengthened their collective resolve. Taking the stage to thunderous applause, AGPI Founder and CEO Avi Abraham Benlolo expressed heartfelt gratitude:
“Thank you for never giving up, for never giving in, and for never surrendering.”
In a moment of deep appreciation, AGPI’s Honourary Chairman Paul Godfrey, one of Canada’s most respected statesmen, honoured Police Chief Stephen Tanner for his role as a founding member of AGPI and for his decades of principled public service.
Representing the organization with elegance and strength, Board Members Stephen Clark, Bruce Etherington, Maryka Weisz, Dr. Philip Solomon, and Dr. Mark Korman each offered thoughtful reflections on AGPI’s mission and momentum.
A rousing ovation followed remarks by Vaughan Mayor Steven Del Duca, who was applauded for his courageous stand against antisemitism and unwavering support of AGPI’s work.
As AGPI continues its rapid growth—drawing in new donors, forging influential partnerships, and expanding its global footprint—the Crystal Ball Benefit underscored what more and more Canadians are recognizing: in an age of rising hate and misinformation, what is most needed is mature, experienced leadership grounded in principle and purpose.
AGPI is not chasing headlines—it is shaping the future with courage, clarity, and impact. In a world that demands moral leadership, AGPI is proud to answer the call.
