AGPI Commemorates Yom HaShoah at Toronto City Hall

Toronto, ON — April 14, 2026: The Abraham Global Peace Initiative (AGPI) today held a solemn and deeply moving Yom HaShoah commemoration at Toronto City Hall, bringing together community members, dignitaries, and leaders in remembrance of the six million Jewish men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust. The ceremony featured powerful remarks from community leaders, clergy, city councillors, and interfaith partners, alongside reflections from a second-generation Holocaust survivor and Israel’s Consul General. Each speaker underscored a unifying and urgent message: silence is complicity . Through poignant testimony, candle lighting, and collective reflection, the gathering served as both a tribute to those lost and a call to moral courage in the face of rising hatred and antisemitism. AGPI emphasized the importance of remembrance not only as a historical obligation, but as a responsibility to stand against injustice in all its forms today.

Canada is Ground Zero for international Antisemitism. The country has been rocked by vicious antisemitic attacks since October 7th 2023.

In response, The Abraham Global Peace Initiative (AGPI) sponsors an annual Global Conference Against Antisemitism in Toronto. We are holding our political leaders to account.
