A staunch supporter of the fight against Antisemitism, Mr. Lantos continues to be outspoken and a proud defender of human rights on the world stage.
Vince Hawkes is the former Commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police. He is now also based in Washington D.C. where he serves as Director of Global Policing International Association of Chiefs of Police. He is a graduate of the FBI's National Executive Institute and International Leadership in Counter Terrorism Program. He has an Honourary Doctorate and the Order of Merit.
The Hon. Jerry S. Grafstein, B.A., J.D., Q.C. is a Canadian lawyer, businessman and politician who served in the Senate of Canada from 1984 to 2010. Grafstein was the longest-serving member of the Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade. He served as co-chair of the Canada-United States Inter-parliamentary group and as a senior officer with the OSCE. Grafstein has been outspoken about antisemitism, racism, intolerance and human rights.
Leslie Lewis Dan is a Canadian businessman and pharmacist. He founded Novopharm, one of Canada's most successful generic pharmaceutical companies, sold to Teva Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Dan is a noted philanthropist and has been awarded the prestigious Order of Canada and Order of Ontario for his charitable efforts.
Marina Nemat was born in 1965 in Tehran, Iran. After the Islamic Revolution of 1979, she was arrested at the age of sixteen and spent more than two years in Evin prison. Her best selling book, After Tehran broke open her story. She won the Human Dignity Award from the European Parliament among many distinguished recognitions for her human rights work.
Chief Armand Labarge (Retired) OOM, CStJ, LL.D. (Hon), MPhil, MA, BAS, BA (Hons), CMMIII is Chair of Trent University's Board of Governors, is former Chief of York Regional Police and President of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police, Director of Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police. Labarge received the Police Exemplary Services Medal from the Governor General of Canada.
Jeff McGuire is the former Chief of Police of Niagra Region and currently serves as Executive Director of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police. Chief McGuire received the Order of Merit of the Police Forces and was elevated to Officer of the Order of Merit. Tom Stamatakis is the President of the Canadian Police Association, and the International Council of Police Representative Associations. The CPA is the national voice for 60,000 police personnel across Canada. Membership includes police personnel serving in 160 police services across Canada, from Canada's smallest towns to its cities.
Edward Sonshine has been one of the most recognizable names in Canadian business circles for decades. He is the Founder and Chairman of RioCan REIT. He Chairs the Chesswood Group and AWZ Ventures. He served as a Director of the Royal Bank of Canada and Cineplex Entertainment. Chief Mark Saunders, O.O.M. served as Toronto's police chief for five years. He held the top title there from April 2015 until his last day on July 31, 2020. Prior to being named the first-ever Black chief, Saunders worked in several units of the service, including homicide, professional standards and emergency task force. Saunders has been appointed special advisor of the renewal project of Ontario Place.

Murray Goldman is the Founder and CEO of The Goldman Group. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Mr. Goldman initially studied to be a doctor. But two years into his pre-med studies at Dalhousie University for economic reasons, he was obliged to abandon that dream. He moved to Toronto where he has lived ever since. Mr. Goldman’s longstanding preference for redeveloping inner city sites stems from a desire to leave green suburban spaces green and retrofit obsolete properties through urban renewal projects.
Deputy Chief Rai is the recipient of a Chief Constable’s Commendation for “courage and professionalism,” two Chief Constable Unit Citations, and a Police Exemplary Service Medal. In 2013, he was the recipient of the Khalsa Diwan Society Exemplary Community Service Award and appointed to the Member of Merit of the Police Forces in May 2016, and promoted to the Order of Merit in May 2020. The Order of Merit is “a fellowship of honour recognizing the highest qualities of citizenship, service to Canada, to the police community and to humanity at large.”
One of the original founding members of AGPI, David Charles Onley, CM OOnt was a Canadian journalist who served as the 28th Lieutenant Governor of Ontario from 2007 until 2014. Prior to his viceregal appointment, Mr. Onley was a respected television journalist. He was a champion of fighting for rights of disabled persons and has been an outspoken defender of human rights.
